On Air – On Site 48 Hours Radio Art – The Hague

My latest electroacoustic composition and my longest work to date, entitled “S22”, will be broadcast as part of the festival program:

On Air – On Site

48 Hours Radio Art – The Hague , Netherlands

On Air - On Site is a sound investigation of a temporary radio event consisting of a broadcast schedule of 48 hours of non-stop streaming, including live performances, fixed media, and radio artworks specifically composed for the festival by an international community of sound artists.

The festival takes place online, on FM and on site from 8 pm on May 22 to 8 pm on May 24 (CET). On-site live events on Saturday, May 23 at the Institute of Sonology and on Sunday, May 24 at West Den Haag, along with listening sessions and a panel talk. This year the festival will introduce something new to the programme: 48 hours of radio art + 6. On Air – On Site will be closing the festival with a special event at SoundHouse form 6pm on May 24 — a BUG Radio takeover to celebrate the community after the festival.

About “S.22”

Genre: Electroacoustic music, 2026, Duration: 15 min

Airing on May 23rd 07:00 CEST

Memory, grief, and resilience. S.22 approaches these concepts in a melancholic way, exploring the concept of time. It's about perceiving the world from a melancholic perspective. It's about relationships, things, and environments that are lost forever or nearly lost—with little chance of recovery, healing, or rebuilding. We also understand memory as a complex function composed of two opposing elements: remembering and forgetting. Does memory truly exist? Or is it an unconscious act of avoidance, the recollection of a traumatic event? How do we remember? Do we remember through our senses or through our bodies? Is remembering a perception of the mind or the heart? What is remembering?
