„9050” white, red, green - Rumpenheimer Kunsttage

From a white ribbon to a line of white, red, green, “ 9050”A Land Art Installation

Rumpenheimer Kunsttage (Rumpenheimer Art Days)

15 September 2023 opening

17 - 18 September 2023

Schlosspark Rumpenheim

Rumpenheim, 63075 Offenbach, Germany

(Organized by Kunst.Ort.Rumpenheim e.V)

About  „9050” A Line of white, red, green

The installation made of jute ribbons and trees has several meanings. Making invisible boundaries and space visible – showing connections, how things are connected to one another. The relationships and connections between humans and nature. The idea arises that everything is connected to one another and that connections can be made visible. What influence does the environment have on the object and how does the object affect the environment? The highlighting of individual objects, in this case a single tree, from the crowd through individual marking. But in the end, all of these marked trees form a group and form a unit despite the individuality in the patterns.

At first glance it doesn't seem noticeable. The trees with the jute ribbons form a baseline that runs through the installation. In one part the line follows a diagonal zigzag course and in the second part of the installation it follows a straight line. Because I had never had the experience that life and thoughts running in a straight line. A side effect is caused by the sunlight shining through the leaves. It creates an ever changing play of shadows and light on the ribbons, which makes them even more visible and distinctive. As I already mentioned, this is the longest (largest) installation that I have created so far.

A White Ribbon

 A White Ribbon

A simple, narrow white ribbon as the starting point for a new land art installation that is spread over 120 meters and is therefore one of the largest and longest installations I have created to date.

The installation is created in the context of the Rumpenheim Art Days (Rumpenheimer Kunsttage) in the castle park of Rumpenheim, a suburb of Offenbach, Germany.

Imago Fest

 Imago Fest

06.09.2023 – 09.09.2023

open Fri. - Sat. 11 – 14 h and Thu.16 -21 h

Grosso Modo ,31 Alfasi St., Tel Aviv - Jaffa, Israel

Grosso Modo Gallery and Artists Collective is pleased to present the first International Imago Video Fest, which deals with the written/spoken word and its connection to the world of visuals. The exhibition shows video art , small graphic work and artists books

My most recent video work “You Get...teG uoY” is screened at the festival.

The title of the work refers to the phrase “You Get So Alone At Times That It Just Makes Sense” The sentence belongs to a book of the same title by the American poet Charles Bukowski (1920-1994). The work focus on an individual in a phase and state of being alone.

In addition, the sentence has a strong autobiographical connection to my person. Being alone isn't always painful, but it can be complex and challenging. We may be in a period of longing for companionship and change, but we also need to ask ourselves whether the process of longing and belonging to a social setting has begun or whether we end up intentionally avoiding all belonging and attachment to anyone

The new video contains written and a spoken text which is an exception within my video works.

Radiophrenia is also broadcast on Resonance Extra via their webstream and on DAB+ Digital Radio in Brighton & Hove, central Bristol, Cambridge, Greater London and Norwich.

As in previous years, the majority of the program will consist of a selection of international sound art and radio works.

About “The Voices In My Head”

The sound piece focuses on an unseen but real situation. The theme and sounds are based and relate to the voices and sounds I've been hearing in my head almost constantly for many years. Caused by medical and mental issues. It's a simple attempt of a field trip into my head and to approach sound and noise from another level and place.  Under certain circumstances, the voices in my head are capable of creating a temporary space in which things are they behave, act and interact differently, disobeying the normal rules of everyday life

https://on.soundcloud.com/2CoL9

Radiophrenia is an accumulation, rather than an overarching theme or idea, brought together through a common medium: live events, produced commissions, live studio performances, compilations of short works, long form works, documentaries, field recordings, experimental music, sound art, drama, poetry and (perhaps mostly) lots of material that lies in between or beyond. At times recordings blend together, at others they are punctuated by an announcer’s voice. Ongoing and literally refreshing, becoming anew with each work, each space of reception.”

À noite, todos os gatos são pardos

My motive “Darkness” was selected for the Postcard Edition:

À noite, todos os gatos são pardos

At night, all cats are gray

Collective Photography Exhibition + Release Postcard Edition

15.07.2023 – 23.09.2023

Opening 15 July 2023, 15.00 h.

Atelier Obscura

Rua de Porto de Mós n.107 loja A, 2415-784 Leiria, Portugal

While going through the postcards, the attentive gaze of the viewer reveals what lies beyond the visible, while the photographic images make us reflect on how we see and represent reality. In the shadows of the night, cats become gray, and in photography, subjective interpretation reveals hidden variations. It is in this sense that we emphasize the importance of looking beyond appearances and questioning our own perception of reality.

"The Plant" Live Performance 16th Intern. Workshop Week in Lüben

"The Plant" Live Performance, 13 minutes

During the exhibition and final presentation of the 16th International Workshop Week Symposium in Lüben, I also presented a new live performance. I have performed three times, once on Saturday July 8th and twice on July 9th 2023. Actually the performance is based on a video performance that I had tried out in May this year during the Pedvale project in Pedvale, Latvia

The work, like the two installation works I created during the symposium, has a philosophical approach, based on Buddhist and Zen thoughts, but at the same time containing autobiographical elements. It is a live performance with deliberate movements and without words. To reflect the concept of dignity in relation to time, stillness, the power of solitude and the fact that every living being and every object has its dignity.
