Buddhist Art Meditation Journal Issue 3 (April 2023)

Two lino cut prints Black Zen Matter XV and Red Zen 7377 are published in the latest edition of of Buddhist Art Meditation Journal Issue 3 (April 2023)

The prints reflecting my issues with my Self and the thoughts of... To bring rest and peace to a troubled mind within a complex world and... To bring the mind and heart to focus on the essentials

BAM (Buddhist art meditations) is an journal for exchanging ideas on connections between creative and Buddhist practice. It mainly showcases original, personal, creative interpretations of “Buddhist Art”.

Due to my years of living in the Far East I dealt also with Zen Buddhism. For myself I see Zen Buddhism more as a philosophy and less as a religion. Up to day, this has influenced my artistic visions, partly consciously and partly unconsciously

“REFLECTION” MIA2023 Moving-Image-Arts

"Windows & Mirrors"  with Anne Rosenbaum presented in Toronto at “REFLECTION” MIA2023 Moving-Image-Arts International Short Film Festival

Moving-Image-Arts is a juried showcase of recent short independent films and videos from around the world that creatively explore a certain theme. This year, that theme is REFLECTION. Just as the film strip reflects light from a lens and exposes an image, these 15 films hold a mirror up to our challenging and ever-changing world and reveal new ways of seeing.

This year festival took place on March 30th, 7pm in-person (for the first time since 2020!) at the School of Image Arts at Toronto Metropolitan University, tickets free of charge. We are also continue to offer our program online to be available from March 30th at 7pm until April 6th and is totally free to view. Online attendees just follow the vimeo link along with a password to watch within the above dates.

The State of The World

My work 7372 from the Red Zen portfolio is presented in the exhibition

The State of The World

"Galerie im Kornhaus"

(Art Association) Kunstverein Gemünd

04.02. to 19.03.2023

Tue. to Fri. 14-17 h, Sat. 10-14 h, Sun. & public holidays 11-17 h.

Kornhausstrasse 14 , Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany

"The State of The World " always means a summarizing view, the definition of an interim balance, which presupposes an occupation, an analysis, one's own positioning. For the first exhibition of the season, the Kunstverein was calling for analogue (non-digital) print work, such as, woodcuts, linocuts, silkscreen Between horror and hope, hesitation and fearlessness, political view and individual life perspective, scientifically based or subjectively meandering - we want to unfold a panopticon from very different perspectives.

The most recent venue is from 07/02- 03/03/2023 2023 at Centro Carmen Jiménez, in conjunction with the exposition “Tocar la Tierra” in Granada, Spain

The festival is made up of 69 videos that record a series of minimal, borderline, dislocated, peripheral and delocalized actions that activate nature in the city and the city in nature. The pieces show urban bodies in rural environments or/and rural bodies in urban spaces carrying out contradictory, uncertain, deviant actions that invite us to analyze the urban environment as a natural environment and vice versa.

Brief description of the video “Fallen” with Chen I-Yin, (Taiwan)

A metaphor of the circle of life and the nature of natural environments within the urban space. For a long time in many urbanization's these habitats were abandoned or destroyed. however, in recent years a rethinking of the value of these natural habitats within urban environments has begun.

HORIZONITES

My photo, “Nagarkot Nepal, 28/11/2021, 5.14am” is on display at

HORIZONITES

01/02/2023 - 04/03/2023
POP - Post Office Projects

175 St Vincent St, Kaurna Country, Port Adelaide 5015, SA, Australia

Wednesday to Saturday 12:00 - 5:00 PM

Curators Chantelle Mitchell & Jaxon Waterhouse (Ecological Gyre Theory)

This exhibition emerges from our shared research into questions of time, planetarity and connectivity as they relate to the horizon line - that ever-present bisection of space that informs much of our existence. Drawn from Gerald Murnane’s The Plains this exhibition attempts to manifest a particularly terrestrial ‘overview effect’, with attention to that ‘scant layer of haze where land and sky merged in the farthest distance’.

The project, was seeking photographs of the horizon line from anyone, anywhere in the world. The photographic contributions are installed in such a manner to create a continual horizon throughout the exhibition space. The only restrictions are that the photographs must depict the horizon, and information regarding the time, date and location or coordinates of capture.
