A slightly different approach to art
At the initiative of Anna Gabriel Vinolas, a teacher at the Centre de Formació al Llarg de la Vida, a state-run adult education center in Andorra la Vella, I gave an artist talk and performed excerpts from the "Social Sculpture" workshop on October 21, 2025. It was a form of art in the classroom for one of her English conversation classes. A large portion of the participants were school teachers and professionals from different fields. The goal was to listen to and view art from a different perspective by adding an interactive section and an artist talk. The artist talk focused on a topic related to my mental health and hearing problems and how these affect my artistic vision and work as an artist, and conversely, how art affects my disabilities. It also provided an opportunity to discuss and explore a topic in an English conversation class that differed from the usual textbook and conversation exercises. I conducted two short social sculpture exercises with the group in the nearby Central Park of the capital. This was followed by the artist talk, which was a version of my previous artist talk, which I gave earlier this year as part of the "Deserters" project at the Oriel Y Bont Gallery of the University of South Wales. This was the third and final public event in association with my Empty Times - Empty Spaces project at Faber Andorra.
The talk and workshop were supported by Sandra Colell, project manager at Faber Andorra, and the Andorran government.
